Color is my language.
This is one of the color schemes we are working with at work right now. Its currently in China being approved for dye production. Then its on to the motif to fit the scheme! Colors speak to me like a story book. Its hard because the people approving the colors in China do not have a Western Eye at all. They are into deep heavy reds and golds, and out doing their neighbors homes. Blah! Good money should be used on good taste and design. Keeping my figures crossed they will be happy with the above combo.

New Mediums, more possibilities
When the industrial revolution introduced new materials into modern society, doors opened to create innovative and exciting pieces of furniture. Mediums such as plastic and plywood allowed for creative spirits to thrive. Wood was no longer the only option for creating lasting pieces of furniture. Mass production made it possible to produce beautiful furniture on a large scale, making it affordable to the working class.
Plywood, which consists of layers of wood glued together and molded into organic curved shapes, is what made designers such as Charles and Ray Eames so famous when they designed the Eames Molded Plywood Chair. With its sleek, simple look and organic curves, the Eames Molded Plywood Chair became a modern classic, inspiring a retro modern look in any space.

Best place to socialize in a house is usually in the kitchen. Some of my best childhood memories are staying up late and shooting the breeze around the kitchen table on summer nights. Mom would make a mean batch of peach shakes, or root beer floats and we would sit around and chat with the window open. When I worked for a kitchen designer, I found myself being very fond of kitchens. I love the use and feel they bring into the home. I think entertaining has changed, things are not as formal. People want to be involved with the dinner party, getting dirty helping, and working in the kitchen. It is not a hidden place that we serve from anymore. Kitchens have become more of a gathering place in the home.
