It seems that postmodern is like any other adjective, category, or label (like beautiful, ugly, intelligent, classical, hip, etc., etc., etc).  

Something that is postmodern (or beautiful, ugly, intelligent, ... ) may only be so in a specific situation or context.  Take it out of that situation or context and it often becomes something else.  

These adjectives / categories / labels are slippery things, but at least they offer us someplace to start the discussion.
